Summer Reading Rules

Every summer, kids from pre-k to High School can sign-up for our Summer Reading program. This years theme is Tails and Tales. For 2021, stop by Solvay Library anytime between June 21 and August 19 to have a staff member sign you up and give you your Summer Reading Kit, which comes with your first book you can keep! Every five books you read you enter of new Summer Reading Level and receive a little treat. The five levels are Goldfish, Pup, Cub, Zebra and Tiger King. Just because you reached the top level, don’t stop recording your reading because our top reader will be getting the grand prize and title of Library Lion – King or Queen of Reading. At the end of the summer everyone who recorded at least one book will have a chance for great prizes from local businesses.

Craft Day and Game Day will be returning, so be sure to check your calendar inside your Summer Reading Kit.

Keep checking in for different programs we will be holding at the library or digitally on our website and Facebook page. We will also be regularly posting different projects and activities you can do from home all summer!

Yes! You CAN count eBooks in the Summer Reading Program. You can download them for free from the Overdrive App. Look under the “Kids & Teens” section. Did you know you can read them on your smart phone or any tablet?
