The Friends of Solvay Public Library are a group of volunteers who meet once a month to help support the library. They run the Book Sale, fund the Halloween and Easter Parties, provide refreshments for the Holiday Open House and run the Holiday Basket Raffle Drawings. Also, they provide funds for different programs and products and devices used for the library.
The Friends provide vital support and improvements for the Library by:
- bringing crucial library issues to the attention of the community and elected officials
- promoting public knowledge of library resources, services, and programs
- raising much-needed funds through book sales and other events for the purchase of new books, magazines, publications and other important materials
- developing cultural and literacy programs at the Library
Friends members are area residents and library enthusiasts that pay a nominal annual dues to join and are willing to devote a lot or a little amount of time to the group. They hold monthly meetings the THIRD Thursday of the month. All are welcomed to attend, even non-members. To become a friend, call the library or fill out the form below.
