Storytimes: After School Read Aloud for Elementary Kids

Every Tuesday  at 10:15 a.m. we will have Toddler Story Time for prek-k and younger aged kids. Music, reading and other entertainment will also be provided during this time.
OCPL has links to a variety of early literacy programs.

Storytime every Tuesday at 10:15 am  we have a weekly story hour for children ages 3-7 yrs. old accompanied by a caregiver.  Children are invited to come to listen to a story and do a craft to take home with them.  Snacks will be provided.

Welcome Wednesdays is an after school, weekly get-together at 4:00 p.m every week for teen and tweens to discuss social media and other trends, play games, and just hangout at the library.

Blastoff with Brian Gaming is an after school gaming time from ages 5-16 held every Thursday at 4:00 p.m. The First Thursday is all about electronic gaming, so bring your tablets or smart phones! The Second Thursday is nothing but board games, bring in your favorite to share! The Third Thursday is all about games of motion and being physical. The last Game Day of the month is always special games and expect a treat!

Craft Day is every Friday at 4:00. There are different home made and some edible crafts for all ages. Check our Calendar of Events to see the theme of the day!

Annual Children’s Events

Easter Egg Hunt and Party – Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Party Sponsored by the Friends of Solvay Public Library is held in our Community Room.  The Easter Bunny has hidden eggs all over the library for the children to find. There will also be games, music, treats and much more. Please sign up and join the fun. Free of charge, for ages 3-8.

Halloween Costume Party The Saturday before Halloween, join us in the Community Room for games, treats, music and other Halloween fun. Be sure to dress up in your costume! Registration is required, limit of 30 children.

Ice Cream Social and Book Swap –  Usually held during Winter Break in February, kids can come in and swap their gently used books for another then enjoy and ice cream sundae with their friends. Brought to you by the Friends of the Solvay Public Library.
