September is National Library Card Sign-up Month! Library Card Sign-up Month is a celebration held each September during which librarians across the country remind parents and caregivers that a library card is the most important school supply of all.

A library card is a key resource in achieving academic success, and the library is the perfect place to spend quality family time together.

If you or your child do not yet have a library card, you can either sign up for one online at the Onondaga County Public Library website, or come into Solvay Public Library anytime. But, remember to bring: your official photo identification (such as your driver’s license) with current address and signature or two forms of identification, one with current address and one with a photo of you. If you do not have the required identification, ask a librarian or staff member and they will tell you how to get a card.
