Message from Dan W. Golden, Library Director

Welcome to the Solvay Public Library.

I am happy to have you visit our Library, serving all the residents of the Village of Solvay, the Town of Geddes and surrounding areas. You may have stopped by to use the library catalog to search for a book or DVD. Perhaps you want help searching your family tree and plan to use Ancestry.com, on our online databases, where you can access census records going back to the 1700s. Our online business services provide access to accurate and up-to-date business, company and industry information and a wide variety of global business information, all available from the Central Library database

You may be a teen working on an essay and are taking advantage of one of our other databases to locate articles for a school paper. Gale Virtual Reference Library, which lets you scan countless online reference sources, may be your pick, but there are many others available. You may also find helpful information on online resources such as Novelist or the Nursing and Allied Health Collection.

Whatever the reason – welcome!

As you search our website, remember: our services are only a short drive from anywhere in Solvay and the Town of Geddes. We offer free Internet access, as well as free Wi-Fi for your compatible equipment. We also offer traditional library service, so drop in and pick up a novel, DVD, audiobook, a picture book for your little one, or all of the above.

Part of our ongoing improvement process involves reviewing comments from customers. As a result, I value your opinion of the job we are doing. I am always open to suggestions for improving service and I certainly welcome your input. At any time, if you have a question or concern, please feel free to contact me at (315) 468-2441, e-mail at dgolden@onlib.org, or call for an appointment to see me. If I can be of service to you in any way, please let me know. See you at the Library!
